Currently waiting for Lion - I'm supposed to get a free download code as it had been announced when I bought my MacBook.

I did, however, just go to download Xcode 4 - I've been making do with 3 so far - and it's not in the store at the moment. I assume they've either removed it due to bandwidth with all the Lion downloads, or... free version coming if you download Lion?

It seems you need the new version of xcode 4.1 however its not available unless you are a paid developer it would seem.

If you are planning to upgrade your only machine like i have done and you want to put in code like i do don't install 10.7 until the new xcode is out.

Doh!

4.1 is now in the app store and is apparently showing as free at the moment.

Hmm, maybe it's free now (and the only version available from the store)  to encourage people to upgrade to Lion.

Cheers,

Steve

It's free, but you can't download it without having Lion installed. Clever Apple. Now why haven't they sent me my upgrade code yet?

Edit: just got a link. Off I go to get Lion!

I can't use any of the multi touch features on my mac only 2 finger scrolling up down left or right.

Nice of them to mention that earlier.  Undecided.

They did mention that earlier Mark.  It's been one of the main features behind this release, hence the reason I purchase the magic trackpad for my iMac.

You should get one - the only thing I have found personally is that I get a sore wrist now and again as you tend to wrest it on the desk, rather than off the desk when using a mouse.

I read it at the very bottom of the page in the app store, after i had purchased it of course.

I have no money for a magic trackpad thing, so i will have to do without.

At least xcode 4.1 has installed now.

That's cool.  When you mentioned about Xcode 4.0 not working I was worried.

I'm still waiting for Lion to download.  Only down about 25% looking at the progress bar in the dock icon.
