Argument names

hello , are 'argument names' just a means of making method declarations a bit more readable.
Don't get me wrong.., i think they're a good idea, i was just wondering if that was all they were and they don't have any real purpose??

They have a purpose; it's the name you need to use to refer to the actual argument passed to the method.
