I have type the prgm in and compiled it does not return a value.
error message Format %1f expected type float but argument 2 type double.

That's the letter l in the format string, not the number 1:  "%lf"

The same looking character is used as the number one (value1) in the same line! I had rewrote that part of the code just to make it work. Please add clarification to the errata
