Whenever I first sign in to the Webcasts, the pre-recorded "the webinar will start in a few minutes" message sounds like an old 45 record being played at 78 speed (those of you over 30 will understand that reference).

Not really sure why, but the solution that has worked for me is as follows:

Open the Audio MIDI Setup application (this comes standard with OSX and is in the Utilities folder)
Click the "Output" tab
Where it says "Format:" use the pull-down menu to change the format to something else (it doesn't really matter what)
Wait for the pre-recorded message again (or for Stephen to talk again, if the webcast has started)
Then change the setting back to whatever it was at the beginning (for me it's 11025.0 Hz)

This seems to clear up whatever was causing the issue, even though you haven't really changed any settings.

I'm not really sure why this works, or what's causing the problem, but it works (at least for me) so I thought I would share.

Thanks Stephen for the GREAT Webcasts. I am really enjoying them!!!

(I posted this in the wrong place so I am reposting here - sorry Sad  )

Haha!  No, there's no helium tanks around when I broadcast!   Roll Eyes

Thanks for the advice.

Cheers,

Steve
