Just a quick note:
For program example 6.8
The scanf ("%lf %c %lf")...
The format is Long Float ("%lf") NOT 1 float ("%1f")

I am confused as to the reason why it has to be %lf and can't be %f. I see on page 119 it states this but I didn't read it as it HAS to be this. I didn't notice the "l" as I was typing it in and just did %f...and it wouldn't accept the input.

Is this just a "it has to be so" or is there something special about scanf that makes it that way?
